President - Chris Stevens

Chris is Vice-President and General Manager of CHUM Radio Winnipeg, which currently consists of Sports Radio 1290 (CFRW), FAB 94.3 (CHIQ), and 99.9 BOB-FM (CFWM). Chris has an extensive background in the Marketing, Communications, and Broadcast Industry that all began back in 1977. As a "creative collaborator", he is an enthusiastic leader who embraces change and is dedicated to serving and enriching his community. Chris has served on and held positions with several Boards and Committees in the not-for-profit and charitable sector. In his spare time, Chris enjoys traveling with wife Lori and 2 children, and spending time at the family cottage.

Past President - Tim Jones

Tim is a veteran television broadcast executive with over 32 years in the industry. He started with CKND TV Winnipeg in 1977 and has held a variety of senior positions in Operations, Production, Technical, Sales and Administration. Tim was instrumental in the start up of CanwestÕs Specialty television operations in 2001. He led a team in the design and construction of a multi-station On Air and Production centre in Winnipeg and served as Director of Operations for 7 years. In May of 2008, Tim took the role of General Manager/General Sales Manager at Global Television Winnipeg where he continues to manage the day to day operations and sales functions. Tim is a former board member of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and is currently the chair of the Assiniboine Community College Industry Advisory Committee. He is also on the Board of the Victoria General Hospital Board of Trustees. He holds a diploma in Human Resources and a certificate in Management from the University of Winnipeg

Secretary - Verna Lenton
Additional BAM responsibilities: Secretary
Verna is the General Sales Manager for 94.7 Star FM and Westman Advertising in Brandon. In 1991 she became part of the CKLQ advertising team. Verna has been the Secretary and Sponsorships Co-chair for the Broadcasters Association of Manitoba since 2002 and is also a proud board member for Westman Dreams for Kids. Outside of work Verna enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, she enjoys reading, gardening and especially baking.

Education & Responsible Consumption Chair - Tom Scott
Tom is General Manager of Rogers Radio Winnipeg. Prior to his current position, he was General Manager of Citytv Winnipeg. He started his broadcasting career at CKND in 1978 and has held management positions in programming and promotion with Global Network, Global Specialty Networks and MTS Allstream Inc.

Sponsorship Chair & Web Master - Warren Neufeld

Warren was worked in Radio for 20 years, having worked in all 3 Prairie Provinces. His travels have had him spend time with Rogers Radio in Calgary and working for a variety of stations in Saskatchewan and Manitoba with Golden West Radio. He has served on and held positions with Chambers of Commerce in Manitoba & Saskatchewan, served on the Saskatchewan Association of Broadcasters and most recently serves as fundraising co-chair of the Portage Regional Recreation Authority, which is in the final stages of completing a $38 M Multi-plex. When not working or volunteering, Warren enjoys spending time with his wife and 2 teenage kids. As a sailor currently without a boat, he aspires to one day soon again sail the many corners of Lake of the Woods.

Treasurer - Wendy Friesen

Wendy Friesen currently serves as the Accounting Manager of Golden West Broadcasting. Wendy has been with Golden West for 18 years! As a strong believer in community and volunteering, Wendy belongs to the Cdn Women in Communications - serving as the (Vice-Chair), Morden Condo Corp (Secretary Treasurer) and is the current Co-Chair of the 2011 Scotties Tournament of Hearts. In her spare time time Wendy is an avid competitive local curler and also enjoys camping at her favorite spot near St Malo.

Communications, Government Liason & New Initiatives - Darren Jopka

Darren Jopka currently holds the role of General Sales Manager for 92 CITI FM and 102.3 Clear FM in Winnipeg. In 1995 he started in radio working part-time in promotions, and decided to leave the teaching profession a year later to work in radio full time. Over the past 15 years he has held roles in both promotions and sales for a variety of stations owned by Rogers Broadcasting, Craig Broadcasting, Standard Radio and Astral Media. Away from work you'll find him relaxing at the cottage or enjoying time with his grandson.
